What Happens During Dental Implants Surgery?

During an in-depth consultation prior to any surgery, we’ll go over your options with you and ensure that you are a candidate for tooth implants. Then, when it comes time for the actual dental implant surgery, you’ll see it’s a two-step process.

First, implants are placed within your jawbone, and for the first 3 to 6 months the implants are slowly bonded with your jawbone.

Second, once the implants have bonded to your jaw, they are uncovered, and the small posts are attached, which will anchor the artificial teeth.

After this final step you will be referred back to your dentist to fabricate the teeth or dentures to fit the implant. From beginning to end, the process usually takes 6 to 8 months. Dental implant patients can lead normal daily lives during the procedure.
